Overview
Surgical compresses absorb fluid and protect tissue during procedures; in the operating room they must be X-ray detectable so no compress is retained. Quirmex makes abdominal (vientre) and laparotomy compresses at 70×45 cm with a radiopaque marker, in sterile and non-sterile versions and defined tissue types.
The line also includes continuous gauze rolls for dressing and packing, cut to clinical lengths. All references follow the Mexican Pharmacopoeia and are manufactured under COFEPRIS Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 13485.
Sterile laparotomy sponges are supplied in sealed packs (e.g. packs of 5) with lot and expiry marking and certificates of analysis per batch.
